James Cameron's Avatar is getting a lot of positive reviews. I saw the trailers and the special effects seem impressive. But the story seems very unrealistic to me. And that's a turn-off for me. So can you convince me to see the movie?

Battle of the Babes: AnnaSophia Robb

After Miley Cyrus, we now have contestant #2: AnnaSophia Robb. In the previous Battle of the Babes she reached the Semi-Final but lost to Emma Watson. Time for revenge?

Bio

AnnaSophia Robb started out in a McDonalds Commercial. After that she starred in Drake & Josh. Her first big role was in Samantha: An American Girl Holiday. Her next big role was in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Violet Beauregarde, the gum chewer. She has done several movies after that, most recently Race To The Witch Mountain.

Face: AnnaSophia has got a quite regular shaped face. Her facial features are very nice. Her green eyes are very attractive. She also has a cute nose and smile. Her blonde hair makes it even prettier. To make a long story short, she's got a very attractive face.

Upper Body: There's not much to say about here... There haven't been any bikini pictures of her. Considering her age that may be a good thing. But seeing her normal pictures she seems average and she has a nice figure.

Legs: AnnaSophia's legs are quite sexay! But the bad thing is, there aren't a lot of pics of her showing them off. Her legs are not too thin, but they're nicely shaped and fairly long.

Conclusion: AnnaSophia is a very pretty girl. She has a lot of attractive attributes. She's also got that girl-next-door feeling, instead of the distant celebrity feeling, which makes her even more attractive.

How To: Choose A Christmas Gift

One week left till December 25: Christmas. Can't decide what gift to give? Well, I'm going to give you some tips.

Men/Boys:

• Gadgets are perfect gifts for men. Just go to your local electronics store (not the second hand one) and look around. You're bound to see something good. Maybe you'll find a nice MP3/MP4 player. Or you could find some other nice spiffeh gadget. If you don't know what to look for, check out the room of the person you want to gift a gadget. You'll get an idea of what he likes. If not, check out one of the other items on this list.
• Games always do well. If your friend doesn't have a console yet, that would be even better. At the moment Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is quite popular. 'Assassin's Creed II' and 'Left 4 Dead' are doing well too. That is if the person in question doesn't already have them. For a god top 10 list check out Game Informer.
• DVDs are good gifts as well. This time of the year a lot of shops have special offers. Recently released DVDs of good movies are 'Inglorious Basterds', 'Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince' (Review) and 'Public Enemies' (Review). If the man in question is a TV addict, buy him a whole season of his favorite TV-show.
• Money, Gift vouchers, etc. work just as good. The only disadvantage of this is that the person you give it to knows how much dollars you are willing to spend for him. But men like to choose their own gifts!

Women/Girls:

• Take her out to dinner if it's your girlfriend/wife you're searching a gift for. Not to a fast food restaurant, but a nice one. Girls always love it

• Clothes are also one of the things girls like as a gift. Just take a look in her wardrobe to check her sizes and her choice of clothes. Then go to a good clothing shop and look for some nice clothes. If you're not sure what to choose ask a woman who works there for advice.
• Jewelry is loved by women of all ages. You don't have to buy really expensive jewelry or something like that. Just look for something you like and you can afford.

These tips are just general guidelines when buying a gift. Everybody is different, so these tips don't necessarily apply for everyone. Just check to be sure you don't ruin someone's christmas by giving them a bad gift.

Battle of the Babes: Miley Cyrus

Contestant #1: Miley Cyrus. The cute Disney star from Hannah Montana is the first contestant in the second Teen Goblin Battle of the Babes. Last time she lost to Emma Watson in the first round. Time for revenge?

Bio

Born as Destiny Hope Cyrus, she was always laughing. Soon she got the nickname Smiley, later shortened to Miley. Eventually Destiny changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus.

She played some small roles before being cast for the lead role in Hannah Montana. Her career as actress and singer skyrocketed. Her two first albums entered the Billboard top 100 at #1.

Since then, Miley has done a lot of stuff including modeling and doing tours.

Now let's get down to business here.

Face: Miley has a cute, relatively round face, which suits her. Her long brown hair usualy looks very nice. Combined with her pretty green eyes, the result is amazing. When she smiles it makes her even prettier. No wonder she smiled and still smiles all the time.

Upper Body: Compared to most girls, Miley can be pretty happy here. She doesn't need the silicone to look good. Judging by her bikini pics, they're pretty round and big (considering bigger than a handful as big). And her belly is pretty sexy as well. Her perfect arms complete the picture.

Legs: Miley has wonderful legs. Long 'n sexy! She has perfect curves in her legs finishing in her oh so sweet rear end. Sweet! Dude! Sweet! Dude! Sweet! Dude! (sorry just quoting 'Dude Where's My Car?')

Conclusion: Miley is one of the few girls who are near perfect. Plus the fact she clothes well adds up to her beauty.

Facebook Pwns X-Factor Winner

A group on Facebook is about to beat Joe McElderry, winner of the X-Factor, the British musical talent show. They started a campaign to get a number one Christmas hit.

"Killing in the name" for Christmas number 1, was started by a couple of friends on Facebook. They want to get as many people as possible to buy 'Killing in the Name', a song by Rage Against The Machines from 1992, on iTunes.

Simon Cowell is not amused. He told the BBC that this is cynical and blunt. He also said he took this personal.

Joe's song is a cover of 'The Climb', a song originally done by Miley Cyrus. At the moment, 'Killing in the Name' has 60,000 more copies than 'The Climb'

Toshiba Qosmio X500: King of the Notebooks

The Toshiba Qosmio X500 truly is a very powerful notebook. It has one of the most powerful processors around, the graphics card is awesome and it has a lot of RAM and HDD space! To make a long story short, the X500 is one of the best notebooks available right now.

Processor

The Qosmio X500 has one of the new spiffy i7 cores: Intel Core 17-720QM. It can be up to 75% faster than the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000! You have to admit that's huge. It's base frequency is 1.6 GHz and the Max Turbo frequency is 2.8 Ghz. That gives a maximum of 11.2 GHz!

Hard Drive

The two 'cheaper' versions of the X500 come with a 320 GB Hard Drive. The speed, 7200 rpm makes up for the relative low capacity of the HDD. The $ 1700 version however, comes with 704 GB, a 640 GB HDD (5400 rpm) and 64 GB SSD. The Solid State Drive gives a huge speed boost.

Memory

All three versions of the X500 come with 4GB DDR3 (1066 MHz) Memory. The maximum supported amount of memory is 8 GB though. So you can expand it if you want.

Graphics Card

The X500 comes with a NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250M graphics card. This is one of the best GFX cards available at the moment. It supports Full HD (1920 x 1080) as well. I won't go into details here, because I'm not that good at Graphics card. Notebookcheck has a pretty detailed review of it.

Audio & Video

The monitor of the X500 is 18.4" widescreen LCD screen. It has got two built uin harman/kardon stereo speakers. It supports Dolby Surround Sound as well.

The Toshibe Qosmio X500 comes in three versions. They all have slightly different specs. The prices and specs can be found on the Toshiba site. Nonetheless, all three versions are very powerful notebooks. If you're planning on buying a new notebook, you should definitely consider this one.

Games: What to expect from 2010

The new year is just over two weeks away now. It will bring a lot of new games for us to play. What can we expect from 2010?

Vancouver 2010

For the wintersports fans out there this will be a great year. The Winter Olympics in Vancouver will have their own game of course! Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Alpine Skiing, and much more to do! The game will be out on PC, PS3 and XBOX 360

Oh and by the way, the Netherlands are going to beat the US at ice skating!!!

Bioshock 2

Bioshock 2 is coming out on February 10. It's release is much anticipated by the loyal Bioshock fans. A lot of rumors have surfaced, none of them has been confirmed or denied yet.

Bioshock will be out on PC, PS3 and XBOX 360.

May Payne 3

May Payne 3 is another highly anticipated game for PC. The story continues as May Payne is 12 years older now. He has grown a beard and is bald. He now works for a security company in Brazil.

Crysis 2

Crysis 2 is due in 2010 Q1. There aren't much details about the storyline in the game. There are rumors that it's four years after the events in Crysis. Crysis 2 is supposed to be much better than the original, which I thought was pretty good. And I must say the Nanosuit 2 seems pretty awesome to me!

Crysis 2 will come out on PC, PS3 and XBOX 360.



GTA V

Probably THE MOST ANTICIPATED game of 2010 is Grand Theft Auto V. It's probably going to be released Fall 2010. There are teasers that the game is set in Vice City. Wow that brings back great memories... I loved Vice City!

Movie Review: Public Enemies

Public Enemies recently came out on DVD and Blu-Ray. It got mixed reviews and did reasonable in theatres. Should you buy the DVD? Or should you even watch the movie?

The story is about the so called 'Public Enemies' and in particular about John Dillinger. In the 1930s there was a lot of crime in the United States due to the poor economic situation. There were a lot of bank robbers, most famously John Dillinger, 'Baby Face' Nelson and Bonnie & Clyde.

Summary

This movie is about the manhunt for John Dillinger (Johnny Depp), with Agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) of the Bureau of Investigation assigned as the man in charge. Dillinger robbed banks and sometimes gave the money to civilians at random. Some said he was a modern day Robin Hood.

The Bureau however, was not so happy. Dillinger was arrested at one point and came face to face with Purvis in jail. Purvis arranged the Army to guard the police station he was held at, but Dillinger managed to break out, something he was known for as well. After this, Dillinger couldn't find anyone to work with except Baby Face Nelson. Working with him they almost got caught. Dillinger and Nelson got away but almost all of their mates were killed. One of Purvis' colleagues ans friends was also killed

Meanwhile Dillinger started liking a girl named Billie and dated her. Eventually she fell in love with him as well, despite knowing he was a notorious bank robber. This eventually led to him wanting to stop robbing banks. Nelson came with one job that would provide him enough money to stop robbing banks. While preparing for it Billie was arrested and Dillinger wanted to help her, but he eventually saw that would make the situation even worse.

Dillinger and Nelson rob the bank, but it turns out there was less money in the bank than expected. Dillinger went to an old friend, a prostitute named Mara, after this. Mara decided to snitch on Dillinger, so she would not be deported, since she was a foreigner and had no proof that she was in the US legally. Eventually Dillinger was killed by a Bureau agent after coming out of a cinema. The agent who killed him put his ear next to Dillinger's mouth and heard him say something. Eventually he tells this to Billie: "Tell Billie for me: Bye bye, black bird".

Review

Overall, I liked the movie. It had some nice, sometimes emotional and dramatic, scenes. The story was easy to understand as well. However the movie missed something. I don't know how to describe it. Usually, my feeling after a very good movie is: "I want to watch that again sometime." I didn't have that with Public Enemies.

Nevertheless, Johnny Depp's portrayal of Dillinger is brilliant. The way he creates emotions by saying some words is very good. His acting is very 'real'. I liked it a lot during the movie. I had the feeling that it was Dillinger, not Depp. A bad portrayal would lead to the thought: "Why did Depp do that?" I didn't have that thought anywhere in the movie.

Also, Christian Bale's performance as Melvin Purvis was very good too. I still think that Johnny Depp acted better though. Bale's acting was pretty real too. His performance in the Dark Knight was better as well. But overall it went well.

So, in my opinion you should see this movie once. But I don't think you should buy the DVD, becayse you would probably won't feel the need to watch it again. There aren't any mysterious things that you need to see several times to understand, and the movie isn't that good that you'd see it over and over until you get fed up.
